This photo was taken around an hour ago at the resort where my family and I are staying. My mom did laps in the pool and I watched. I’m gonna do my own swimming sometime later with my siblings.
Anyway, here’s to my mom — I hope I’ll be able to do as many laps as you do when I get to your age (she does 60 on a daily basis; beat that!) and I hope to rouse my very dormant culinary genes someday. Thank you for being my hero, my mentor in life and in Christianity, our court jester (your Sonia-isms will live on forever, I tell you), the dogs’ eternal Santa Claus of treats, and so much more.
